To enable students to critically understand the dimensions, strategies and meanings of promotional culture across a range of commercial and non-commercial activities in both public and private sectors.
Description and analysis of promotional culture; the local and global contextualisation of pan-promotional activities; audiences and consumers within and against promotional culture; media and popular culture; evaluation of promotional activities; developing a critical and applied perspective on promotionality; consideration of low budget, not-for-profit and oppositional promotional techniques enabled by new technology.
