To further develop students' research skills and knowledge required for higher levels of research-led design practice, and to enable students to experience the structures and ways of working which will be required for increasingly independent motivation.
Students will experience different structures and ways of working required for design decision making, resolution and presentation required in 3rd year design studio courses. The students will develop ways of working; techniques and design research methods for effective solutions to visual communication problems. They will undertake research into typography design; investigation of its relationship to all aspects of visual communication and its visual and functional possibilities, industry practice and technical specifications and factors in design for reproduction.
