Course aim

To develop students' specialised knowledge of materials and technologies required required for the prefabrication of lightweight buildings.

Course content

Students will understand the complexity of translating design into build-form by developing knowledge of workshop processes and safety requirements, including equipment use, care and maintenance. Through the exploration of the nature and possibilities of various materials students will develop design details and skills in workshop operations, including the use of hand and power tools for building component preparation and assembly.
