Course aim

To develop students' knowledge of active and passive environmental control and servicing systems and their application in buildings of medium-to-large scale and complexity.

Course content

Students will develop knowledge of the definitions, terms, and principles applied to active, passive, and hybrid environmental control and servicing systems in buildings of a medium-to-large scale and complexity. Students will develop skills in analysing thermal comfort, characteristics of healthy buildings, legislative requirements for built environments, and apply strategies to integrate architectural design with lighting, acoustics, fire, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
