To develop critical analysis within the field of International Relations and World Politics.
This course provides an introduction to the discipline of International Relations. It introduces concepts such as sovereignty and anarchy and explores the development of the modern state system. It introduces various international relations theories including realism, liberalism and critical theories, largely through the prism of security. It examines the changing character of war and the role of international organisations in promoting international peace, human rights, sustainability and development.
