Course aim

To introduce students to the concepts and principles of systems integration and technology implementation as applied to Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)

Course content

Development of ITS. Constituent technologies in ITS applications, including automatic vehicle location and identification, dynamic control systems, traveller information systems, and incident detection systems. Concepts and principles of systems integration. ITS products and services. Economic, social and environmental issues in ITS implementation. Cases studies in ITS. ITS project planning, appraisal and evaluation.
