Course aim

To introduce students to research methodologies and issues for education and prepare them for a project or an independent research investigation.

Course content

Students examine ethical and political issues in research, consider how the research may position them and their courses and the relation of the research to the socio-political context in which it will be conducted. Students explore two approaches to generating and analysing data in research and apply their knowledge and skills by developing a research proposal in a designated field.
