To further develop students’ proficiency in spoken and written Japanese, building on their prior language learning, and strengthen their intercultural understanding through reflection on representations of contemporary Japanese culture and society.
Vocabulary and language structures related to the range of texts, themes and topics covered; grammatical concepts with a focus on language in use; sociocultural knowledge integral to the range of situations and tasks covered in the language classes; intercultural aspects of contemporary Japanese culture and society relevant to the readings and projects covered.
