Course aim

To extend students' proficiency in spoken and written Italian in a range of contexts and introduce a critical study of Italian literary texts and their relevance to intercultural contexts.

Course content

Vocabulary and structures related to a range of text types, themes and topics covered; grammatical concepts with a focus on language in use; socio-cultural knowledge integral to the range of texts, themes and topics covered; contemporary Italian culture and society with a focus on Italian immigration; cultural representations drawn from a selection of modern Italian texts viewed in their relevance to intercultural contexts.
