To extend students' knowledge of communication as a practical discipline through analysis and assessment of the development of organisational communication, the culture of organisations and the interrelationship of communication and culture.
Students will develop advanced knowledge of communication as a practical discipline through analysis and assessment of the development of organisational communication, the culture of organisations and the interrelationship of communication and culture. Students are required to demonstrate creative and critical thinking in complex projects and to exhibit sophisticated skills in the production of organisational communication.
The course relates communication in organisations to the use and application of communication media in its changing forms and requires the application of theory to assess and resolve issues and problems relating to decision making, power and ethics.
Preparation for professional practice is encouraged with a particular emphasis on new technologies in organisations and the examination of issues facing organisations.
