Course aim

To introduce students to the spectrum of pedagogical considerations necessary for effective Design and Technology teaching.

Course content

Learning and teaching theories as applied to Design and Technology practice and education for sustainability; Multiple intelligence theory; Basics of theories of technological literacy – critical, ethical, technical; Technological concept and knowledge analysis for teaching episodes for school students; Introduction to teaching, communication, organisational, assessment and resource management skills for Design and Technology environments; Occupational Health, Safety and welfare issues; Interpretation of curriculum policy into inclusive pedagogies of critiquing, designing and realisation for all students.
