To enable students to relate the values and understandings of critical reflection to an analysis and development of teaching proficiencies as required for a specific educational sector.
Social and cultural influences on teaching; teaching as a political and moral practice; a social justice framing of curriculum; critical analysis and development of teaching practices in order to develop effective programs and teaching competencies (planning and programming, managing the learning environment, engaging students in learning, assessment and reporting, valuing diversity including Indigenous issues, multiculturalism, gender and special learning needs; skills of critical reflection, communication and interpersonal relationships; teachers as reflective practitioners and life-long learners.
