Principles of Journalism enables students to develop an understanding and appreciation of current practices, procedures and issues in Australian journalism and within a global context, with reference to multimedia newsgathering and interviewing techniques. Students will also be able to reflect on their own future career paths in journalism and identify inherent ethical and legal obligations.
News judgments; fundamentals of newsgathering; reporting for work; notions of professionalism; writing for different media; resources for journalists; interviewing.
