To provide details of gene structure, function and inheritance and to present the principles of various molecular biological techniques and their application in clinical, research and forensic settings.
Mendelian inheritance, independent assortment and mapping of genes, gene interaction, gene isolation and manipulation, the genetics of bacteria and their viruses, regulation of gene expression, epigenetics, DNA mutation, recombination and repair, genomics and proteomics, evolution and the inheritance of complex traits.
