Course aim

To provide students with a background in comparative animal anatomy and physiology with an ultimate focus on humans.

Course content

The diversity and broad classification of animal life using a hierarchical system based on increasing complexity. Using evolutionary principles to explore the development of complexity within each of the major physiological systems, including circulatory, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, digestive, excretory, reproductive, locomotor and immune. In the process of these studies to make the ultimate focus, a contextual understanding of human systems. Acquisition of basic human knowledge covering the above systems. Development of study skills and information literacy.
