Course aim

To provide students with basic knowledge of animal cell anatomy, physiology and genetics.

Course content

History and unifying theories of biology; basic cell structure; basic chemistry of biological molecules. The cell membrane; membrane transport mechanisms; cell signalling and cell division. Tissue types; Organs (liver and pancreas); Systems (Respiratory and Excretory); System interactions (Renin – Angiotensin Pathway). Human genetics; genetic engineering.
