Course aim

To enable students to demonstrate skills and knowledge as they adopt the role of practitioner in a birth to three setting.

Course content

The students will undertake supervised placements and develop knowledge of the role and expectations of educators in age group of birth to 3 years old. The students will explore the regulatory frameworks, policies, legal and ethical considerations, health, safety and nutrition issues, authentic curriculum planning for very young children, professional self development and reflective practice, managing behaviour, importance of relationships and communication with parents, staff and children and developing and maintaining a professional experience portfolio.
