To extend students’ insight into the social and emotional development of children aged 4-8 years and factors which enhance or are deleterious to it; including the characteristics of contexts which support children’s increasing capacity to self regulate.
Cultural contexts of children’s social and emotional development; emotional development; attachment 4-8 years/adult attachment; peer relationships; families, parenting styles and socialisation; group dynamics; observation techniques; other control to self control; moral development; understanding of self and others.
