To examine historical and current social and cultural influences affecting children and families and the work of early childhood personnel from a national and international perspective
Understanding of the family and community contexts of care and education processes within settings such as child care centres, kindergartens and primary schools; research, analyse and practically address issues affecting children and families; poverty, parental mental illness, family breakdown, domestic violence, child protection, abuse and the effects on children and early childhood services/personnel; family law, child welfare law; mandatory reporting.
