Course aim

To introduce students to the particular christologies of each of the Gospels, and to Christology in the Catholic theological tradition.

Course content

Revision of the three stages of Gospel development and the Four-Source Theory of the Synoptic Gospels; the historical location/s of the communities of the four Gospels; the particular and unique characteristics of the images of Jesus contained in each of the four Gospels; the nature and function of theology; particular christological questions in the Catholic tradition including the death and resurrection of Jesus, Jesus human and divine, Jesus’ self-knowledge, liberation christology, feminist christology and the question of Jesus Christ and world religions.
