Course aim

To develop students’ proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and develop their intercultural competence through critical reflection on key aspects of contemporary Japanese culture and society

Course content

Students will build upon their knowledge in vocabulary and structures related to a range of themes and topics which were developed in the introductory level courses. They will expand on the grammatical concepts with a focus on language in use, sociocultural knowledge integral to the range of themes, topics and representations of key aspects of recent Japanese culture and society and their relevance to intercultural contexts.
