Our design degrees will equip you with the skills and confidence to take on roles in the creative industries such as:
- visual communication designer: specialised graphic designer that uses software applications to create visual design elements for publishers, web developers and multimedia companies
- illustrator: produce still drawings for use in advertisements, magazines, on packaging, greeting cards and in newspapers
- animation and motion designer: use graphic software to create animated images
- art director: responsible for the visual aspects of a publication, campaign or other published material; a chief liaison between the client and designers
- communication designer: specialised graphic designer that uses software applications to create visual design elements for publishers, web developers and multimedia companies
- typographer: create the typeface that graphically reflects a client’s brief
- web designer: create and maintain websites, this may include the design, layout and coding
- furniture designer: develop design concepts, experiment with different materials, liaise with clients and build sample models for either mass produced furniture prototypes or one-off exclusive pieces
- technical illustrator: design and create visual representations for use in technical publications and manuals
- animator: use sequential images to produce moving pictures
- industrial designer: develop concepts and designs for manufactured products, such as cars
- product designer: use your design skills to make existing products more effective
- ceramicist: create ceramic objects or artwork
- arts administrator: responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of an arts organisation
- sculptor: manipulate hard materials to make three-dimensional artworks
- art critic: specialise in analysing, interpreting and evaluating art
- photographer: capture everything from portraits and landscapes to architecture, fashion and editorial. You can choose to be self-employed or to work for a range of industries as an in-house photographer
- artist: create original artwork; fine artists are usually self-employed, but some artists may produce work during artist residencies or may be commissioned by an individual or organisation
- jewellery and glass designer: design, repair and create jewellery
- printmaker: create prints using a range of medium, including film, paper or wood

How to apply?
There are a number of ways to apply to study UniSA's undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees.
You can access our online International Application System through our How to Apply page. The International Application System is an easy and secure online application and acceptance process. You will have visibility of your application through the secure online portal with the ability to download offer documents, submit your acceptance and make a payment.
Alternatively you can submit an application through one of the University's registered Education Agents.
If you are completing an Australian year 12 qualification in Australia or overseas, or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Australia, you must apply through SATAC http://www.satac.edu.au/.
If you are applying for the UniSA Study Abroad or Study Abroad Plus program, you can submit your application online here.

Is there a closing date for applications?
There is no closing date for submitting your application however the admissions process takes between one and three weeks from the date that we receive your application and all required supporting documentation.
If you are completing an Australian year 12 qualification in Australia or overseas, or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Australia, you must apply through SATAC. Key dates for applications can be found here.

What credit can I receive for previous studies? ?
You may be eligible to receive credit or advanced standing for your chosen UniSA degree based on your previous studies, if they are in a related area at an equivalent or higher level. Receiving credit will reduce the number of courses you undertake within the degree, and may also reduce the overall duration of your degree.
The amount of credit you may be eligible to receive is assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Admissions team.
The best way to determine your eligibility to receive credit or advanced standing is to apply using our International Application System which can be found on our How to Apply page. You will need to supply detailed syllabus documents with your application.
