Course aim

To provide an understanding of how businesses leverage Internet technologies to gain a competitive advantage. To accomplish a competitive advantage e-businesses not only needs to know how to integrate technology with existing business practices but also how to prioritise e-business implementations, how to evaluate their success and how to manage change from within the organisation.

• What is the Internet, Internet standard, Managing e-business infrastructure, Social and legal factors, Taxation, Economic and competitive factors, Political factors and globalization, E-business strategy, Strategic analysis, Strategic objectives

• Process modelling, Data modelling, Design for e-business, User-centred site design, Security design for e-business, Alternatives for acquiring e-business systems, Development of web-based content and services, Testing, Changeover, Content management and maintenance, HTML, Developing dynamic web content, web analytics tools
