Students studying this minor will graduate with a comprehensive sociological understanding of the phenomenon of globalisation, which refers to the increasing economic, social, political, and cultural interdependence of the world. Globalisation has become such an important issue that it is thought to affect nearly all aspects of social life, including politics, migration, finance, tourism, gender, and identity. This minor covers the driving forces and effects of globalisation and the ways in which globalisation involves contestation and transformation.
