The Undergraduate Certificate in University Studies (Creative Studies) is a six-month program, run by UniSA College, which prepares you for university learning in the creative fields. Become part of a creative economy, transforming how we see the world through design, communication, art, film, and more.

Once you’ve successfully completed your Undergraduate Certificate (Creative Studies), you’ll graduate with a standalone qualification and can use your Grade Point Average (GPA) to apply for direct entry into creative-related degrees.

This pathway option is ideal if you recently completed UniSA Foundation Studies or are currently enrolled in a UniSA or UniSA Online degree, but you’re interested in exploring a different discipline.

You will study core courses to develop your academic writing, communication, numeracy, research, and study skills – including how to write academic assignments, how to reference and effective time management. These skills and experiences will give you the right launchpad to navigate your future at university.

Why this Degree

You will be fully supported when choosing courses within your program so that you are confident and ready to transition into your desired area of study. You can book one-on-one appointments with the helpful UniSA College staff for enrolment/study support, or access individual Program Director appointments and consultations with academic staff in the UniSA College Common Room. You will also be taught by highly experienced academics from UniSA.

Online study

Online study

Studying externally (online) gives you the flexibility to study where and when you want, at your own pace. All of the courses offered through UniSA College can be studied online. You can choose your study mode when you enrol. With interactive online course materials and a 24/7 digital environment, you can also:

  • access your lectures online, plus study and course resources
  • submit your assignments and get feedback
  • use forums and discussion boards for teamwork and communication

Further Study

After successfully completing your Undergraduate Certificate in University Studies (Creative Studies), you'll graduate with a standalone qualification and you can then apply for direct entry into your chosen bachelor’s degree using your Grade Point Average (GPA).

Alternative Pathways

Completion of this program will provide a pathway into the majority of UniSA bachelor degrees. Please note that some bachelor programs have program prerequisites which must be adhered to. These prerequisites can be fulfilled via a combination of successfully completed SACE Stage 2, and Undergraduate Certificate in University Studies courses.

This program will not provide a direct pathway into some degrees, including Bachelor of Architectural Studies. Please contact College.Certificates@unisa.edu.au for further information.

Your program director

I am passionate about encouraging students to engage with the sciences to spark an interest in learning and discovery. I have been with UniSA since 2018 and have a background in wine making, education and microbiology. I am a strong proponent of the transformative power of education and love having the opportunity to help others begin their journey of life-long learning.
