1. Applicants are advised that a successful Criminal History Screening Clearance (Police Check) is required for all students prior to their undertaking any professional experience/practicum placement that involves contact with minors (under 18 years of age). Information on the procedure to be followed for obtaining clearance will be provided with the letter of offer or may be viewed at the School of Education criminal history screening web page. These placements form a compulsory part of the program. A successful clearance may also be required for other courses, eg to enter any school, pre-school or childcare centre for any reason, including on placement, observation or visits, unless the students are already registered teachers.
2. Students in the double degree program may transfer into the Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement and Health Studies) program.
1. EDUC 4045 Reflective Practice 1 includes 10 days of full time activities in education settings.
2. EDUC 4043 Reflective Practice 2 includes 25 days of full time practicum in education setting during Weeks 5 to 8.
3. EDUC 4055 Reflective Practice 3 includes 30 days of full time practicum in education setting during Weeks 9 to 14.
4. The prerequisites for the course Reflective Practice 2 are Reflective Practice 1 and 9 units of learning area courses. The prerequisites for Reflective Practice 3 are Reflective Practice 2 and 18 units of learning area courses.
5. The Health and Physical Education learning courses (H&PE 1-4) includes the professional option. In some cases, students may complete all courses from the Health and Physical Education learning area. This will enable students to develop an interest area within Health and Physical Education such as Outdoor Education, Dance, Health, Nutrition, etc. The following are the Learning Area courses: Health and Physical Education TEDU 5044 Health and Physical Education 1 TEDU 5045 Health and Physical Education 2 TEDU 5046 Health and Physical Education 3 TEDU 5047 Health and Physical Education 4 TEDU 5048 Health and Physical Education 5 Directed Study Science Education EDUC 4014 Science Education 1 EDUC 4162 Science and Mathematics Education 2
