Entry requirements
Applicants would normally hold a degree in engineering or science, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants with relevant work experience who either hold a degree in a discipline such as management or information technology, or hold a lower qualification, will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Aim

This program provides graduates in information technology oriented engineering disciplines with an advanced understanding of the current practice and technology in one of the following streams:

Advanced Manufacturing Technology
Engineering and Technology Management
Energy and Sustainable Systems
Materials and Nanotechnology

Content & Structure

The Graduate Diploma in Engineering program requires the completion of courses comprising 36 units. The units of study must include two x 4.5 unit foundation courses, and at least four x 4.5 unit specialist courses relevant to the specialisation that is being undertaken.

Applicants are referred to the Program Director to choose a particular program of study appropriate to their academic background and professional interests.

Rules

1. Students must complete 36 units of study.

2. Students must complete two x 4.5 unit foundation courses.

3. Students must complete at least four x 4.5 unit specialist courses relevant to the specialisation they are undertaking.

4. Students may select other postgraduate courses run by the School of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering to obtain the required units of study. Courses outside the relevant program schedule can only be selected with approval from the Program Director.

5. Credit will not normally be granted for more than one third of the total units of the program.

Notes

1. Students who have successfully completed the relevant minimum number of units can exit from the Graduate Diploma program with a Graduate Certificate in Engineering (specialisation).

2. Not all courses are available in any one year.
