Entry requirements
Applicants are required to:
- hold a Bachelor degree in Nursing or equivalent from a recognised higher education institution; OR
- have completed hospital based training as a Registered Nurse.
- hold a Current Practising Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia; AND
- have completed a minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
Aim
The program provides Registered Nurses with qualifications in the professional field of Health and Ageing, develops knowledge and skills, and extends their professional expertise.
Content & Structure
The program, taken over one year of part-time study, requires completion of 18 units of study in the specialty area of Health and Ageing. Courses in Health and Ageing have been specifically designed to extend knowledge and skills in caring for older people in a range of settings.
