This course aims to develop students' scientific literacy and cultural competence through exploration of environmental concepts and practices in an Australian context. This course further aims to highlight a range of career opportunities and prepare students for higher education pathways in a related degree.
This course introduces the interconnectedness among plants, animals and people with the environment. Students will explore Aboriginal, and Western scientific ways of understanding nature and managing the environment. It investigates concepts such as biology, ecology, geology and climate change, and the importance of people in managing ecosystems in a sustainable way.
