Course aim

To develop specialised knowledge of biopsychosocial constructs underpinning conditions requiring rehabilitation input across the lifespan, advanced assessment and management skills for selected conditions, and specialised knowledge in theoretical framework of movement.

Course content

Students will learn the causes and mechanisms of abnormal movement, the pathophysiology and sequalae of a range of congenital, chronic and degenerative conditions requiring physiotherapy input.

Knowledge of safe, effective and patient-centred assessment and management techniques appropriate for rehabilitation settings.

Skills in assessment (including use of appropriate outcome measures) and management of conditions requiring physiotherapy input across the lifespan.

Theory and application of culturally responsive, ethical and legal physiotherapy practice related to disability and aging in a simulated environment.
