To introduce the theory and practice of databases, data warehouses and data management in the cloud environment. To design and query relational and non relational databases, including data warehouses and cloud databases.
The relational model and database constraints; Data management and retrieval using SQL; Database conceptual design; Database logical design; Data warehouse architecture and components; Star and snow flake schemas; the Multidimensional model; the Relational model for OLAP; Data warehouse design; Data upload and update; Reporting and analysis; Cloud databases and warehouses; Use of Hadoop and Big Data in Data Warehouses; and Present novel and emerging structures in databases appearing in the real world.
