Course aim

To introduce the fundamental principles of Medical Radiation Practice at a beginner level.

Course content

Introduction to Medical Radiation Practice in Australia; sociocultural, economic and individual determinants of health; legislative, regulatory and ethical requirements of the medical radiation practitioner; multi-disciplinary healthcare; communication; medical radiation terminology; biological effects of ionising radiation; mathematics for medical radiation science, radiation quantities and units, prefix and unit conversions, radiation protection; reflective practice; simulated clinical practice.
