Introduction to the field of physical activity and exercise for health and wellbeing in diverse populations and the study and career options available within this discipline.
This course introduces students to the importance of physical activity for good health across the lifespan. Students will learn about the far-reaching effect of various types of physical activity on personal health, and the connection between sedentary behaviour and the prevention and management of lifestyle-related chronic diseases. Ways to incorporate sustainable physical activity into the lifestyle of individuals, communities and populations will be explored.
