Problem Solving in the Digital Age

Course aim

To explore the pillars of computational thinking, how to develop and analyse algorithms, and how solutions can be implemented using the Python programming language.

Course content

Topics covered in this course include: introduction to problem solving; design thinking; decomposition and pattern recognition; data representation and abstraction; introduction to algorithms; common algorithms explained; your algorithm to pseudo-code; programming concepts; introduction to python; variables and conditional statements; lists and loops; functions and files.
