This course aims to provide students with a strong foundational knowledge of the Australian federal system of public law and governance, with a particular focus upon related theories, perspectives and social justice issues. Students will also develop skills in critical reflection and legal argument.
In this course, students will explore the structure and operation of Australia’s federal system of public law and governance and related theories of law, government and justice; the perspectives and position of First Nations people within the Australian legal system; and topical social justice issues with respect to citizenship and rights. Alongside this content, students will develop writing skills in critical reflection and legal argument.
