Course aim

To prepare preservice teachers to teach in Digital Technologies across the middle years (yr 7-10) of schooling.

Course content

Preservice teachers will explore Digital Technologies as a focus area within the Australian Curriculum (yr 7-10) investigating structural implications, cross curriculum connection and assessment. Preservice teachers will research and critically analyse design-based and problem-solving pedagogies to enhance learning and teaching in Digital Technologies. They will consider implications for inclusion and differentiation, the creation of safe and supportive learning environments and engagement. Preservice teachers will plan, teach and evaluate a series of coherent and inclusive learning experiences for Digital Technologies applicable to middle years learners. They will critically reflect on their emerging identities as Digital Technology teachers and appraise their developing capabilities.
