To enable registered nurses to develop the specialised knowledge and skills to provide safe, competent patient centred care in the perioperative environment.
Fundamentals, competencies, principles and concepts of perioperative nursing; environmental control, asepsis and infection control; patient safety and risk management; national and international guidelines, standards and policies; medication safety; medico-legal and ethical issues; teamwork, communication skills and resilience building; research awareness; reflective practice, critical thinking and evidence based practice.
