Course aim

To develop students’ preparation for practice through a sound knowledge of pharmacology and, pharmacotherapeutics, to support evidence based midwifery practice.

Course content

Pharmacology; pharmacotherapeutics; pharmacodynamics; pharmacokinetics; prescribing principles; drug classifications; quality use of medicines; legal and ethical practice legislation; clinical reasoning, critical thinking, decision making, professional judgement; complementary therapies.
