Course aim

To develop students’ preparation for practice through a sound knowledge of pharmacology and, pharmacotherapeutics, to support evidence based midwifery practice.

Course content

Pharmacology; pharmacotherapeutics; pharmacodynamics; pharmacokinetics; prescribing; drug classifications; quality use of medicines; pharmacology legislation; Therapeutic Goods Act; diagnostic processes; diagnostic tools; interpretive skills; analytical skills; complementary therapies; ethics; communication processes.
