To introduce the principal elements of cyber security from an organisational and technical perspective.
In this course, students will gain skills and knowledge in the following: Core security principles including confidentiality, integrity and availability (CIA); roles and responsibilities of a cyber security professional; principles of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography; attack models, threat lifecycles, social engineering, malware, denial of service, insider attacks; Australian Computer Society (ACS) code of conduct.
