Course aim

To develop students' knowledge and understanding of the role of evidence-based practice in the provision of safe, effective person-centred nursing care.

Course content

Relationship between knowledge, research and evidence-based practice; principles of evidence based practice; levels of evidence; research terminology; ethics in research and the role of human research ethics committees; National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards; Clinical Standards; searching databases; critically reviewing literature; research evaluation; research translation into practice.
