For preservice teachers to review methodologies, then identify and consider their strengths, limitations and ethical implications of methodologies, the associated methods and analytical techniques, reflecting on the connections between educational research, data, and practice.
Preservice teachers will learn about a range of methodologies and methods commonly used within educational research. They will consider the strengths, limitations and ethical implications of these methodologies and related methods for teaching practice. Through the use of methodologies, methods and analytical techniques, preservice teachers will reflect on and make connections between educational research, data and practice.
Preservice teachers will critically consider multiple forms of data, including assessment data, that are generated within education sites. There will be a focus on ethical approaches and responsibilities for educational research. Preservice teachers will apply their extended knowledge of methodologies, methods, analytical techniques and ethics to a theme or problem within an education context.
