Course aim

To develop and enhance student understanding of quality and safety, and risk management standards that apply in the Australian health and aged care sectors, together with knowledge of the processes and tools that can be applied to manage and improve client outcomes

Course content

Quality and safety frameworks used in the Australian health and aged care sectors; Contemporary clinical risk management in Australia and internationally; The role of clinical governance in managing risk and improving outcomes including change management; The role of policy and legislation in facilitating improvements in and maintenance of quality and safety.
