Course aim

To provide students with a broad understanding of Australian health and aged care systems and operations and how they compare with health and aged care systems internationally.

Course content

Systems and the organisation of care; The Australian health and aged care systems; Comparison of international health systems; The relationship between the Health and Aged Care systems and individual organisation performance; Data requirements for understanding the operations and performance of health and aged care systems including performance measures; Introduction to data analysis for operation management and improvement; Understanding the importance of variation in health and aged care services; The role of design, quantitative methods and other approaches required to improve and manage health and aged care operations.
