Course aim

Develop an understanding of theories of coaching and counselling and apply this knowledge to a diverse range of clients and contexts.

Course content

Students will develop an understanding of coaching and counselling models and how these apply within speech pathology contexts, including working with parents, allied health assistants or carers. Students will continue to develop their understanding of working with a team context, and apply learning of collaborative practice (team work) to the role of speech pathologists in a diverse range of workplace contexts, considering the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics and medico legal responsibilities.
