Course aim

Develop clinical reasoning skills and apply evidence-based speech pathology intervention approaches to assist children living with developmental communication disorders.

Course content

This course will develop students’ competencies in the application of theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practice to the interpretation and reporting of assessment data, planning intervention for children with developmental communication disorders from early childhood to adolescence, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. The process of evaluating the effectiveness of intervention is also introduced. Aspects of consent, confidentiality, legal documentation, record-keeping and mandatory reporting are addressed.
