To develop preservice teachers’ capacity to plan for and implement student centred learning experiences in middle school mathematics.
This course builds pre-service teachers’ self-reflection to support their personal growth and development as a teacher of mathematics. It unpacks the domains of mathematical knowledge for teaching and the strategies that emphasise teaching for understanding. Working with the mathematics curriculum documents, the preservice teachers will plan learning experiences (including selecting and using resources).
