To develop preservice teachers’ understandings of teaching science using an integrated approach appropriate for students in secondary school.
This course examines approaches to teaching science in the secondary school context. The course covers models of secondary schooling and their impact on science teaching, including inquiry approaches to teaching and learning science. Preservice teachers will analyse how key curriculum documents that inform science teaching, such as the Australian Curriculum and SACE, shape secondary school science teaching and learning.
