To provide students with an introduction to the areas of aviation knowledge required for the commencement of flight training.
Pre-flight and post-flight actions and procedures, standard radio and aircraft operating procedures, basic in-flight manoeuvers, basic aircraft performance, principles of flight, decision making, situational awareness, take-off circuit, and landing.

This course is only open to those who are studying the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot) and the Graduate Diploma in Aviation concurrently. Students must be admitted to both programs before they may enrol in this course. In addition, students do not need to hold a current CASA Class 1 Medical but need to show that they can obtain one (ie has previously had one). Students must hold a CASA Class 2 Medical with at least 6 months validity. Students must remain compliant with the Aviation Academy's Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP). Students must show proof of ASIC application.
