Provide students with detailed knowledge of cardiac haemodynamics and the application of this to complex valvular disease.
Haemodynamic principles and calculations for estimation of valve area, regurgitant volumes and the correct application of the PISA method as well as valvular stenosis/ regurgitation, prosthetic valves (including percutaneous valves), valve repair and complications of valvular disease. Diseases of the aorta will also be covered.
